Know what is included

Transparent maths. Real assumptions.

Monthly processing fees = monthly payments × (average payment × the applicable percentage + the fixed fee). Mixed domestic and international payments use your stated proportion. Monthly costs add platform transaction fees, the plan subscription and any extra costs you enter.

Figures estimate a typical month with the same average payment for every payment type. Providers round individual transactions, so actual statements can differ. Annual subscriptions are displayed as a monthly equivalent and require annual payment.

Scope of this estimate

  • Australian merchant accounts, AUD payments and standard published pricing, or your own entered rate.
  • No refunds, disputes, chargebacks, promotions, negotiated discounts or specialist payment products unless included in your entered rate.
  • Shopify standard cards only. Premium and Amex cards can cost more. Online comparison uses Shopify Payments.
  • PayPal standard commercial payments only; PayPal card products and currency conversion are outside this estimate.
  • Fees and subscriptions retain their published GST treatment. This is a cash-cost estimate before any GST credits, not a tax calculation.
  • It estimates merchant costs; it does not calculate a customer card surcharge.
